A Day at RPA
What a typical school day looks like for our learners, from the morning bus ride to home time.
-
Part 1 of the day
Good morning, RPA!
The day begins as our school buses bring learners in from across Utawala, Ruai, Kamulu, Githunguri and the surrounding estates. Smart in their red and navy uniforms, learners are welcomed at the gate and settle into their classrooms ready for the day.
-
Part 2 of the day
Morning assembly
We gather together on the school grounds for assembly: a time for announcements, celebrating achievements, songs and reminders about our values. It sets a positive tone for the whole school.
-
Part 3 of the day
Lessons that build real skills
Morning lessons focus on the core CBC learning areas: English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Science and more. Learners read, discuss, solve problems and work together, with teachers guiding each child at their own pace.
-
Part 4 of the day
Break time
Between lessons, learners head outside to stretch, play and catch up with friends. Breaks give young minds the rest they need to come back focused.
-
Part 5 of the day
Lunch together
Through our meals programme, learners share a nourishing lunch at school, so they have the energy for a busy afternoon.
-
Part 6 of the day
Computer, French and creative learning
Afternoons bring hands-on subjects. Every learner has Computer lessons, from mouse skills in PP1 to coding in Grade 9, and French lessons, alongside creative arts, practical projects and Pre-Technical Studies for our Junior Secondary learners.

Clubs, sports and activities
Later in the day, learners stretch their talents beyond the classroom: football for boys and girls, badminton, scouts, games on the field, and optional activities including taekwondo, swimming, music, dancing and skating.

Part 8 of the day
Home time
As the day ends, learners pack up, say goodbye and board the school buses or meet their parents, ready to share what they learned today.
Days shaped around each child
Our youngest learners
In Playgroup, PP1 and PP2, the day is gentler and full of play. Children learn through songs, stories, drawing and hands-on activities in our colourful Pre-School block, with plenty of time to rest and explore.
Proud in our uniform
Every day starts with learners dressed smartly in the RPA uniform: the red sweater with our badge, navy trousers or dress, and the red track suit for P.E. See the full uniform.
Special days
Some days are extra special: educational trips that bring lessons to life, sports days on the field, and celebrations like graduation day, when families join us to cheer on our learners.
